OCR Text	Show FIRING ON THE DARDANELLES. The bombarding of the forts at the entrance to the Dardanelles by an Italian fleet will alarm all Europe. The other powers have dreaded this very thing, the spark which might start a world-wide conflagration. The powers desire to retain Turkey as a buffer country, but iY there is any sign of the breaking down of the government and the disintegration of the empire, Germany. England, France and Austria-Hungary will watch with jealous eyes the dividing of the spoils, and out of the snarling and snapping over the bono of contention I many things can happen to destroy the peace of Europe. I The Dardanelles has played more than one important part in the world's history and history may be about to repeat itself.
