Show oo- HOME INDUSTRY CLUrS OUTING The first annual outing of the Homo Industry Association of Ogden was hold at Tho Hermitage grove in the canyon yesterday afternoon and even ing. The affair was planned and sue cessfully cnrrlod out by the ladles of that organization, their huBbanas being the somewhat surprised guests, they having not been requested to assist in the preparations. There were about 75 members of the association present, including all o' Its officers. Tho ladies spent tho afternoon In a social manner and when the gentlemen arrived about 7 o'clock they fecund a delicious repast awaiting them in the big pavilllon. whore long tables had been loaded with Utah-made eatables. The banquet was not followed by a formal program of toasts but several of those present nia'de short addresses. addres-ses. Among these were J. S. Carver president of the Utah Pure Food Commission. Mr Carver told of the great results which jhad been accom pllshed by the members of the Home Industry associatlon'"fn 'tho matter ol boosting Utah products and also laud ed the ladles for their enterprise In arranging such a delightful outing. The Home Industry association ot this city, which sprung Into existence last winter when the Home products exhibition was held.has steadily In creased In membership until tho food products used In moro-than a hundred Ogden homes are purchased by mem bers of this organization which has as its solo aim and ambition the boosting boost-ing of Utah's Industries. Manufac turers and retailers claim that tho in fluence of the association is noticeable as regards the increase in sale ot Utah products and another annual food exhibit this winter will doubtless doubt-less be the means of more than doubling doub-ling tho present membership of tno Ogden association. |
