Show MONEY GOES TO LOCAL OFFICERS A check for $111 10 was received by Chief of Police T E Browning) this morning from the John Becker Mercantile Mer-cantile company ot Albuquerque, N. M , aB reward money for the capture of James Grimes and George Miller, the two men who wero returned to New Mexico about two months ago. Tho reward money will bo divided among officers Hutchons, Herrlck, Lambert and Mclntlre. Grimes waa arrested by the fiist two officers and was locked in tho city jail. A few days later Officer Lambert Baw a man attempting at-tempting to push eomothing through tho bars of the prison from tho outside out-side and attempted to arrest the man. Tho fellow thrust an automatic gun against tho stomach of tho officer nnd would probably have made his escape Rallrood Officer Mclntlro who came to tho rescue of LamberL Tho man, who proved to bo Miller, a crook wanted for the robbery of tho Albuquerque Blore, was locked up. Tho Identity of both men was discovered dis-covered later and their extradition followed. fol-lowed. It was suspectod bj tho local police that they had robbed tho Moore store on Washington avenue, but this crime could not bo directly traced to them. 00 |
