Referring editorially edi-torially to the conditions arising through the fighting now going on between Mexican federals and insurrectos insur-rectos close to United States territory, terri-tory, the Times expresses the belief that Madero's followers will not Improbably Im-probably provoke as many fights as possible aloug the frontier, and If United States citizens are killed or property Injured by Mexican bullets, a state of opinion may be created throughout the United States which no government could afford to disregard, disre-gard, "although," adds the papen "we can well believe that the Washington government will interfere with the greatest reluctance." "It Is evident, however,", tho Times continues, "that unless Mexico Is ablo to restoro and maintain order the United States must seriously consider whether it Is Imperative to do tho work for her. The contingency is disagreeable but It Is useless to ignore ig-nore it." |
