Show oo EIGHFJI AND FIREMEN DANCEj Pew of the many brilliant dancing parties of tho present season np-proached np-proached the success of the annual ball of Perseverance lodge No. 9S, Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Englncmen, which was held at the Congress Dancing academy Thursday Thurs-day evening. Fully 450 persons took part In Uie dancing, which continued from 9 o'clock until 2 a in. As the guests entored the hall they were met at tho door by a committee nnd presented with bouquets of pink and "white cnrnatlons, roses and a very attractive souvenir program. Evory Ev-ory detail of tho program was symbolic sym-bolic of railroad life It not only contained con-tained a code of rules, but also telegraphic tele-graphic train order No, 13, giving lodge No. 9S right over all other lodgos. Each of the thirty dances on tho program bore a station nunlber, together with tho schedule tlmo at which the "train" vas to arrive there. It was an uniquu and beautiful sight that met the gaze upon entering the malu hall. This was located at tho eaat end of the hall and the headlight bore the omblem of the Brotherhood of Firemen, Fire-men, while tho number of the ladles' auxiliary lodge appeared Just beneath. Shovels, brooms and pokers, artistically artisti-cally arranged, completed the picture, which contained every reminder of the locomotive fireman's life. i Refreshments with royal ruby punch I were served by a loca: caterer and was an" appreciated feature. Music for the dancing was furnished by an i augmented orchestra of nine pieces under tho direction of ProL W.
