Show BIG !1U IN UTAH FRUIT CROP SALT LAKE, Aug. 20. Basing his estimates on direct information gathered gath-ered from the principal fruit growing sections of the state, J. Edward Taylor, Tay-lor, state horticultural Inspector, has issued a leport showing that Utah's commercial shipments of fruit for 1911 will total 1,500 cars or eighty-two eighty-two carloads more than last year. Peaches will lead by a big margin, a total of 227,500 cases or 350 carloads, car-loads, boing the estimated crop. While the crop is lighter on the trees this year than last the state inspector declares that because of more modern methods used In the orchards, such as better spraying, pruning and cultivating, the average yield will be of better quality and size. This fact, togetbor with the increased area coming into bearing, will make tho crop larger and much more valuable than last year. Prices are considerably better, ho says, in all the markets, and the net return to tho Utah growers will exceed that of last year. More Apple Trees Planted Inspector Taylor has also compiled a report on the treo planting done in tho spring of this year. It shows 792, -129 fruit trees of all sorts to have beon planted in the state.
