Show oo MILLER AND' GRASN MAN MEET With the bringing about of a general gen-eral improvement In the conditions pertaining to tho mill'ng and grain trade In Utah as Its object, the Utau Millers & Gralnmen'8 association was organized at a conference of representative represen-tative millers and grainmen from all parts of Utah and southern Idaho, held In the EagleB' hall yesterday The opening session was held at 10:30 o'clock, at which the officers for the ensuing year were elected An address on "The Proper Grading of Wheat" was delivered1 by CharleB A. Smurthwalte of Ogden Mr. Smurth-walte Smurth-walte urged the growing of a wheat that would command an Important position po-sition on the eastern market, as well as one better adapted to the milling facilities within the stato At the afternoon session, a resolution resolu-tion was adopted In which the millers agreed to notify the farmers that after aft-er this year a d'fferential rate would apply to -the buving of the starchy or poorer grades of wheat, the top prlco being paid only for the wheat that has the milling qualities and is able to compete with other states on foreign markets. Papers delivered by Prorcssor J. C. Hogonson nnd Dr. Robert Stewart of the Agricultural college tended to show that dry farm wheats were best adapted to the Utah soil Turkev Red was declared to have produced the best yield as well as having the best bread making qualities, according to the experiments conducted by t ic college col-lege La Fell and Mosthouse varieties varie-ties were said to bo next in line as Utah wheats. During the evening the fifty dole-gates dole-gates were guests of the Weber. Davis, and Salt Lake county delegations at a dinner, given at the Hermitage, in Ogden Og-den canyon The officers elected were- Henry II Blood, of Kaysville, president: pres-ident: John II Barnhart. of Ogden, secretary: R.
