Show RUNAWAY BOY IS FOUND ONSTREETS Afraid to go home because he had lost five cents which his mother had given him, Frank Van Dorn, aged 9 years, ran away from his home in Salt Lake City Sunday morning and was located here last evening Tho lad camo to this city yesterday morning and had had nothing to eat up to last evening, when he was fed at police headquarters. It was Saturday evening that the boy had the misfortune to loae the troublesomo nickel. ATraid to face his mother after his loss he went to the Bamberger depot and spent the night in a car. On Sunday morning ho found ten cents and purchased a ticket tick-et to some point oa. the Bamberger line. By accident the conductor overlooked overlook-ed the youngster and he eventually landed in Ogden on the strength of his ten-cent purchase. It is not known where the boy spent Sunday night. About 10 o'clock last evening Robert FieldB found tho boy, on Twenty-fifth FleldB found tho boy, on Twenty-fifth street between Grant and Lincoln avenues. ave-nues. Tho boy was crying and upon questioning him Fields obtained his story. He was then taken to police head- quarters and further cross-questioning revealed the fact that ho was a son of Mrs. Peter Van Dorn, residing at MS North Seventh West t Street In Salt Lake The police communicated with the officers of, the Capital City and corroborated the boy's story'. Relatives will come to .Ogden this morning to take charge of tho runaway. nn |
