Show "THE DOLLAR PRINCESS." "The Dollar Prlnrcss " which was seen at tho Ogden last night, is something some-thing more than the name musical comedy it is a-near-opera. It can not be compared with the best musical comedies seon hero this soason, for a comparison would he unfair to the production witnessed last nighL "Tho Dollar Princess" is all that has been claimed for it and then some. The audience-which greeted the production In this-city was neither as. large nor as as responsive as the show deserved. Classing It as a musical comedy "The Dollar Princess" is much tho best thing which has been 'seen since "The Merry Wltjow" intoxicated nudlences with lis unsurpassed music and delightful scenes. While the mus'le in "Tho Dollar Princess" Is tuneful and pleasing ft is not, in comparison to the "widow" show, that kind -which will live or oven be whistled for a few wcek6. Thore is really agreat deal of music during tho production, but at that one does not sec enough of the chorus to become really acquainted, as it were. In addition to the eifihteen or twenty solos and duets, many of tho lines have been sot to music and it is this which produces tho operatic effect It cau also be said in commendation of the production Hint tho milsie Is consistent in having a thomo which is sustained nil the' way through. There is a dash and crlspness to jt all that wins the favor of every listener. Theie was not a weak spot in the cast to mar tho success of the piece. Miss Dalphone Glenne was Alice Cow-der, Cow-der, the princess, and has a fine soprano so-prano voice, fully adequate to tne large demands of her part Miss Bar-barn Bar-barn Bablngton, who Is Mabel Olga Lablnsky, Russian countess and erst-. erst-. while lion tamer, la a vision of feminine femi-nine loveliness and vied with MLss Glenne for the major portion of the admiration. Franklin Farnum has a stage pres-onco pres-onco which is nobly grand and as Freddy Smylhe, he was simply great in the support of Miss Glenne. ,'JIr.v Farniim has a rich tenor voice which produce a most pleasing effect in the ducts with MlBSGlenuc.
