Show uu NO ARRESTS I THE AMUR CASE KANSAS CITY, May 1. There may be no prosecution of the woman who took $150,000 In bonds from Mrs C. B. Armour, widow of the packer. At least the arrest will bo delayed, it was stated positively today. c Between 525,000 and ?50,000 Is still unaccounted unaccount-ed for. The exact amount Is not known because of the mixed condition condi-tion of Mrs. Armour's books. There Is a theory among the detectives detec-tives that the woman was acting under un-der the suggestion, hypnotic or otherwise, other-wise, of a man friend Detectives are said to be searching for him. Mrs Armour still believes, her attorneys at-torneys say, that tho woman will make restitution in full, and until it has been proved that she will not, oV cannot, can-not, no action will be taken. "I will return If she told Mrs. Armour, Ar-mour, according to the attorney. Mrs. Armour believes her sincere and looks for the return of the bonds. Tho attornoy who has been retained by tho young woman said: "The young -woman's brother In Brazil, I think, will bo able to settle the matter I havo written him, but cannot hope for a reply before June 1. "The young woman's brother ib her last resort, as he Is her only relntivo besides her mother In California, who is not able to take any part in restoring restor-ing the $35,000 missing." The woman Is said to be almost penniless and her condition borders close to tho hysterical. Friends say sho endeavors repeatedly to find trace of the missing money, but her mind seems a blank on those questions. |
