During the last 2i hours eveiy Republican Re-publican in Gruber's district has received re-ceived a snialb neatly-bound pamphlet containing Mr: Emerson's famous es-.say, es-.say, "The Conservative."' On the cover cov-er is the Inscription, signed by Mr. Gruber: '"To tho enrolled Republicans of Now York City: "May I ask you to accept with my compliments this copy of a great essay? es-say? It will bear careful reading and then frequent re-reading.
