Show A Proclamation nv THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF UTAH : WHEREAS, our nation Is en- a m-st critical period in i's'Vruficle ntwinst tyranny, and 'oppress'011' ad' , WHEREAS, the present economy ,nd future prosperity of our nation can he safeguarded by l,e proPer "se of 0Ur e;n'nl"Ss and savings at this time, and, WHEREAS, the amount of purchasable pur-chasable goods is constantly di-minishing di-minishing while earnings and accumulations of money are grater than ever before in our history, and, WHEREAS, the continue financing financ-ing of the war effort constitutes our most important responsibility on the home front if we are to keep faith with our sons and daughters in the service, and, WHEREAS, the proper use and investment of our money at this time will help assure the maintenance main-tenance of the homes, communities communi-ties and oppexUmities to which these boys and girls of ours constantly con-stantly dream of returning, and, WHEREAS, Utah's Seventh War Loan quota of "E" bonds is 65 per cent greater than ever before in history, because of the above needs. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Herbert B. Maw, governor of the State of Utah, do hereby proclaim the month of April, 1945 as "ADVANCE "AD-VANCE ARTILLERY" month for the Seventh War Loan Drive which will be conducted during April, May and June. The success of the Seventh War Loan will depend to a very great extent upon employees' signing up during April for their quota of bonds to be purchased t.y deductions deduc-tions from their April, May and June paychecks; and I urge all wage earners in the state to participate par-ticipate In this manner. I particularly urge employers and labor organizations to cooperate co-operate fully with the special , drive for "extra" payroll deduc- j tions starting on Monday, April , 9th. j I also urge school principals, teachers and pupils to lend every possible assistance to a Seventh War Loan advance campaign starting April 9 in the schools. The full cooperation of Utah citizens during "ADVANCE AR-! AR-! TILLERY" month can be likened 1 to the preliminary shelling and bombing of Iwo Jima. Our $20,-000,000 $20,-000,000 state quota of "E" bonds s is also a tough objective, and the thousands of volunteer house-to-! house solicitors the "marines" 4 of the Seventh War Loan are going to need every advance bar-jr bar-jr rage the big guns of payroll j savings and the schools can pos-ie pos-ie sibly lay dowri. st The State of Utah calls upon to its sons and daughters to stay is in the fight until final victory is as won!
