GEORGE ALBERT PREECE Memorial services were held Sunday August 5 in the Smithfield Second Tabernacle for George Albert Preece, son of Mr. and Mrs. on p. Preece, who was killed in action at the battle of Cebu island in the Phillippines on April 12, 1945. He was born November 15, 1919 at Cove, Utah. He came with his mother to Smithfield in January, 1924. He attended Smithfield grade "d Junior high schools. George began work on the farm at en early age and was notable I ' the faithful, dependable and! . proficient manner in which he I did his work. Among those he . worked for are Leo Woodruff, Dr. D- Egbert, the Hanson brothers and Parley Winn. Lately, he worked work-ed for the Logan Laundry and Dry Owners, where he became one 01 their best employees.
