Bj Be of good character. ((J) Possess the moral, educa tional and physical requirements specified for enlistment in the regular Navy and be graduates of an aviation, vocational, or aviation trade school, or possess equivalent experience through previous employment. (D Must have no dependents or be able to support those he has on the pay of the rate for which he is enlisted. For the present, enlistments in Class V-2 may be made in the rating of Apprentice Seaman only. Such enlistments will be reported to the Commandants who will issue is-sue instructions as to their des tination in accordance with instructions in-structions received from the . bureau bur-eau of Navigation. Men enlisted in this Class, as Apprentice Seamen, Sea-men, will be sent for further training to an aviation school or to an aviation flight activity. In the begining, all men receive re-ceive instruction in practical math, ematics, mechaical drawing, blueprint blue-print reading and in the use of hand tools. He is also given instruction in free machine gun operation, When a man graduates from an aviation school he receives a Bureau of Navigation Certificate and an entry is made in his ser vice record to the effect that he has completed the course and that he is especially qualified to undertake un-dertake the preliminary work of the rate for which ne has been in training. He will obtain practice prac-tice in the operation, care and repair of various types of aviation avia-tion engines used in the Navy, and must be able to disassemble and assemble such engins, to remove re-move them from or to install them in planes, and to check all phases of operation such as car-buretion, car-buretion, timing, and lubrication. lubrica-tion.
