Show Legislature To Open Special Session Monday With tempers rising to the highest high-est point reached this' session, the state senate Tuesday passed the chain store tax bill after clamping clamp-ing on a "gag" rule by a two-thirds two-thirds majority vote. Other major legislative developments of the days included: 1. Issuance by Governor Herbert Her-bert B. Maw of a proclamation' calling a special session to open at noon next Monday. 2. Defeat in the senate of one of the low-cost housing bills, (the master bill authorizing the creation cre-ation of authorities passed Monday.) Mon-day.) 3. Passage by the house of a ! bill to permit organization of health cooperatives. 4. Defeat in the house of a bill to establish a Utah lake authority. The chain store tax bill, one of. the hottest embers in the session, was passed by a vote of 13 to 10 after most of the morning had been devoted to debate on the "gag" rule issue.
