Show Wool Output Drops in Utah The quantity of wool shorn and to be shorn in Utah during the year 1945 has been estimated at 17,901,000 pounds, the bureau of agricultural economcis reported Sunday. This quantity is 305,000 pounds less than the shorn wool production in 1944 and 2,134,000 pounds below the 10-year, 1934-43 average. ' The reduction in shorn wool this year was a result of the decrease de-crease in the number of sheep shorn, since the average weight per fleece was a little larger than last year. The estimated number of sheep shorn or to be shorn is 1,989,000 compared with 2,117,000 last year ' and' a 10-year average of 2,259,oW i The estimated fleece weight Is 9 pounds, compared with 8.6 pounds last year and 8.9 pounds for the,1 10-year 1934-43 average. |
