A iltaiii3ii WILLARD KUNZLER Male Leads for Opera Listed Taking a male lead in Balfe's light opera, "The Bohemian Girl," to be presented at Utah State Agricultural college, February Feb-ruary 8, 9, 10 . will be Dean Ward of Bloomington, . Idaho, Lee Nielsen Niel-sen of Hyrum and Willard Kunz-ler Kunz-ler of Willard. Mr. Ward is a member of the senior class majoring in agriculture agricul-ture while Mr. Nielsen is a freshman fresh-man in commerce, and Mr. Kunzler a freshman in the school of arts and sciences. ' ' : The trio will appear m separate separ-ate casts in the role of Thaddeust an exile from Poland who is pursued by Austrian troops .and to prevent his capture joins a hand of gypsies. While the tribe is crossing the estate of the governor, gov-ernor, Thaddeus rescues the governor's gov-ernor's daughter who is attacked by a wild stag. In gratitude, the Count invites the gypsies to his huning dinner. During the festivities Thaddeus Thadde-us refusess to drink to the health of the Emperor and is about to be attacked by the count's infuriated in-furiated friends when the chief of the gypsy band intervenes. Thaddeus is able to get away while the gypsy chief is imprisoned impris-oned in the castle, but as soon as the feast is resumed the gypsy chief escapes and steals the governor's daughter. Twelve years pass and the governor's daughter has grown into a beautiful young woman and Thaddeus has fallen in love with her. But the gypsy queen who is also in love with Thaddeus Thad-deus attempts to separate the elopers, but as queen is obiiged to unite them in a gypsy marriage mar-riage ceremony. The governor discovers his daughter with the gypsy band and takes her back to the castle, but Thaddeus breaks into the castle, saves the count's life and the happiness of the governor's daughter and Thaddeus is assumed as-sumed as the final curtain falls on the opera. Professor W. H. Maning, head of the vocal music department at ; the college, will direct the three separate casts, two choruses, and a 45-piece student orchestra will be lead by Professor N. W. Christiansen. |
