Show LEWISTON The Lewiston elementary schools presented the opera: "Christmas in Mexico" to a large an appreciative audience Friday night. Mrs- Mary Gregory of Ogden spent Monday and Tuesday visiting visit-ing relatives in Lewiston . Mrs. Eulalia Taggart of Ogden spent several days of last week visiting with relatives here. She returned to Ogden Sunday. The Lewston First ward MIA entertained the members of the ward Tuesday evening, December 19, with a very splendid reproduction repro-duction of two one-act dramas: "'Spy Me This One" and "The Scandal Wood Box." Between the dramas Mrs. Emma Em-ma Stephenson and Doris Hy-er Hy-er rendered a vocal duet, "Bethlehem "Beth-lehem Star"; and cornet solo, "'Holy City", by Verl Hendricks. This program was presented to a large and appreciative audience. After the program the group en- joyed dancing in the Community dance hall. Theron Neilson and Mrs. Alice Hendricks, drama directors, were in charge of the entertainment An interesting Christmas program pro-gram was presented by the First ward Relief Society Tuesday at 2 p. m. in Relief Society room. Congregational singing. "Joy to the World"; prayer by Varna Hyer; singing, "Come All Ye Faithful"; Mrs. Margaret Cragun presented the lesson, "New Testament Testa-ment Parables"; vocal solo, "This Christmas"; vocal solo ' "Holy Night" by Merl Cunningham-story, Cunningham-story, "Legend of the Christmas Rose". Seasons greetings by Presi ' dent Marietta Bergeson; Singing Mothers rendered "The Christmas Song"; benediction by Charlotte Rogers. Refreshments were served Christmas baskets were taken to the sick and the aged by ladies of the organization. Thp Vic-f , . The First ward Primary officers offi-cers and teachers, under the di-rection di-rection of President Dorothy Gil bert, entertained the Primary clnldren Wednesday afternoon. The children were divided Into two groups, the large boys and girls and the small ones, each 3iad their own Christmas tree and program. Santa Claus was there and gave each child a bag of candy and nuts. Mr. and Mrs. ' Clifford Orchard of Burley, Idaho spent part of the week visiting with their parents, par-ents, Mr- and Mrs. Alvin Orchard They attended two sessions doing ordinance work in Logan Temple. The Lewiston First ward Sunday Sun-day School will present a Christmas Christ-mas program Sunday morning under un-der supervision of Superintendent R. Rogers. The Jannette B. Leavitt camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, met Thursday night at the home of Mary Taggart where they enjoyed a levely Christmas program. Dain. ty refreshments were served ?u-l. Ida Rogers was hostess to the Alon's club at her home Fri-dr.y Fri-dr.y afternoon. Dainty refreshments refresh-ments were served and the afternoon af-ternoon spent playing bridge. Mrs. Gertrude Rawlins was awarded a prize. Mrs Rogers presented each guest with a prize. i Miss Vinnie Rigby of Salt Lake City is visiting with her sister, ' Mrs. Jennie Layne.
