Show Legion Convention lo1 Be He'd in Logan August 7, 8, 9 1 ' a public afternoon meeting in the L.vric theatre, and a smorsgas-bord smorsgas-bord and entertainment in the evening eve-ning at Camp Guinivah in Logan canyon. Vice Commander Froyd will speak at a public meeting and Memorial service Friday, August 8. at 11 a. m, in Logan's Capital theatre. Governor Herbert B. Maw, who is a Legionnaire, will also speak at this meeting. Mr. Froyd, a geologist, civil engineer, and manager 'of North Central Gas company "of Wyoming, Wyom-ing, was elected national vice commander com-mander by the national convention conven-tion in Boston last September. His election came as a climax to a 20-year active career in the American Ameri-can Legion. After leaving college where he rose to the rank of cadet major in the cadet corps, Mr. Froyd joined the Wyoming national guard in 1909, and in 1917 was commissioned a captain in the Officers Reserve Corps. He was ordered to active duty May 6, 1917, at Fort Benjamin Harrison! Indiana. Promoted to the rank of Mojor, and assigned to the 333rd Infantry, Froyd sailed for France in September, 1818, and was later assigned to the 368th Infantry at Dielouard, France. After two and one-half1 years of active service, Froyd received his honorable discharge from the army October 29, 1919. Later he was appointed major of infantry in the organized reserve, and on Erwin A.
