Show LOCAL QUOTA IN US9DRIVE Logan Becomes First Utah City to Reach Quota; $2017.04 Collected. Climaxing an intense drive that saw workers contact every home in Logan city, it was announced last evening that Logan had gone over the top in a drive to collect col-lect $2,000 for the United Service Organizations . "More than $2,000 has already been handed in by local USO workers" stated Adrian Hatch, chairman of the local campaign, "and we expect more. I wish to express appreciation to all members mem-bers of the committee, and to the various block workers, who cooperated coop-erated so splendidly. Without the whole-hearted suDDort of workers, and of Logan townspeople, the abjective ab-jective never could have been reached.'' Thus, Logan became the first major city in Utah and so far the only one, to fullfil its quota for the U. S. O. Funds which will go for providing entertainment entertain-ment and morale-building activities activi-ties for men in the service camps throughout the United States. Assising Mr. Hatch in the drive were Dr. R. O. Porter and Miss Vera Carlson. Fred Thompson acted act-ed as treasurer. "Voluntary funds are still coming com-ing in." states Mr. Hatch, "and before be-fore we are through we hope to 1 have still more to donate." |
