UTAH-APE- X TEAM LOSE TO ARTHUR The game between the Utah-Ape- x and the Arthur quintet fought in a closely contested game at Garfield Monday even-ing. The game was one of the biggest surprises of the season, even more than when the Apex t DEMPSEY IN BINGHAM (Continued from Page One) time Jack said, "He wouldn't but now they were married lie was the Boss." Then the ques-tion was asked "If you are not allowed to fight what are you going to do for a living" the champ smilingly replied, "Well, 1 guess 1 ought to be able to get a job on a machine at the High-land Boy, Eh?" In speaking of the camp as a whole he thought that Bingham had changed quite a little, but more particularly the "complex-ions" of the miners now employ-ed here. William Harrison Dempsey, better known as "Jack ' Dempsey" the World's Heavy-weight Champion was born June 24, 18, at Manassa, Colorado. He is of descent and is 6 ft. 1 1-- 2 inches in height. He started his box-ing career in 1915 and during that time has to his credit no less than 196 knockouts. Jim Flynn is the only man who has the distinction of knocking Jack Dempsey out, which fight took place at Murray on February 13, 1917, altho there are a number of Jack's friends today who con tend that Jack at that time "took a dive." Wahtever hap-pened .was a year and a day lat-er rectified when he knocked out Flynn in the first round at Fort Sheridan, 111. When the cham-pion fought Caipentier in Jersey City, N. J., July 2, 1921, the to-tal - gate receipts amounted to $1,626,580.00. and in Septem-ber 14, 1923, when he fought Firpo at New York City the gate receipts totalled $1,082,590.00. Dempsey at that time being 28 years of age and weighed 192 1-- 2 pounds. NOTICE Will sell or trade for Bingham Property 26 acres of GOOD , FARMING LAND. Located at American Fork, Utah.
