| Show A HEALTHIER POLITICAL PICTURE probably at no other time in history has an interest in local politics been so great as this year at no time at least in recent years have so many morgan county people filed for office thirty three persons had by the f inal final day for filing last friday expressed their desires to become candidates for the various offices the interest of candidates will undoubtedly bring br out interest of the people in general which makes for a healthy condition in the selection of our public servants when salaries of county officials were increased last year there was some criticism for this action interest in these jobs this year seems to indicate that the pay raises were justified as there is now greater competition in the forthcoming political race which should culminate in the selection of the best persons for the various positions in any event whether candidates this year are looking at attractive salaries or whether they just have the desire to serve they are to be commended for enlivening the local political picture and may this enthusiasm continue in the months ahead and thru the general election ii hk november |
