Show soil official visits morgan galden IG olden kilburn extension soil conservationist spent monday and tuesday in morgan county going over various aphis es of the conservation program in the county mr kilburn met with the soil conservation district board monday afternoon and reviewed the work aled for 1951 mr kilburn along with the county agent ray thatcher spent tuesday on dry farm areas going over recommendations for planting surplus wheat land to range grasses and alfalfa mr kilburn recommended that surplus wheat ground that Is steep and subject to erosion be planted to a mixture of crested wheat grass smooth brome grass jn in wheat grass and alfalfa he stated that i a small amount of sweet clover seed could also be added to the mixture if desired mr kilburn stated that the best time to plant is just as air ear ly in the spring as the ground can be prepared parel for seeding seedling |
