Show MORGAN CITY COUNCIL STUDIES REDUCTION IN POWER RATES mayor richard carter announces that during the regular meeting of the city council held december 5 a discussion went forth about the possibility and probability of reducing the power and light rates to morgan cit residents it was brought out that during the past two years much has been done to improve the power system i for greater service there has been quite a number of trans transformers fo rm ers installed and replaced also new poles and stubbing of od bid poles have been installed the street lights have been repaired and put into good condition and what has not already been done to improve the power system a program has been mapped to continue all other necessary improvements the council also announces that by the end of this year the last bond will be paid and morgan city power corporation will be free of indebtedness therefore taking into consideration all these factors a committee was appointed to consider all the figures and facts and if at all possible in the next thirty to sixty days to put into effect a reduced power rate the committee appointed consists of morris newbold chairman with wm win turner and horace heiner as members |
