three escape injury as car hits river three davis county residents escaped injury last sunday when the automobile in which they were riding left the highway anti and landed in weber river near gateway the men thomas D fry layton on driver lawell al stephens K rig ville owner and lamar wall layton found themselves in an icy bath when their car went out of control on a sharp slippery curve and plunged feet down a steep embankment into more than five feet of water jack gridley investigating state hi highway patrolman said sunday the loe car entered the river at a point where the flow had been heightened for power generating purposes escaping from the water filled machine they began a one mile hike back to gateway in freezing clothes one of the men was partially overcome before reaching the gateway store and was picked d up by a passing motorist
