Show TIME FOR OPERATION cooperation CO it is quite amazing how quickly and dangerously our point of view changes as we step from the status of a plodding pedestrian to the cushioned comfort of a motor vehicle driver and vice versa behind the seemingly greater security of a shatterproof shatter proof windshield we quickly forget our own intense chagrin at drivers who seemed intent upon mowing us down in our tracks when we were lowly pedestrians and blithely proceed to commit the self sanie sam e offenses against our hapless neighbors on foot but let us park our car step back into the status of a pedestrian and presto our attitude is right back where it started from the answer is that both attitudes are wrong no one can always be a driver and mighty few people nowadays remain forever pedestrians so it behooves every one of us to examine our behavior in both situations As drivers we must be especially careful at cross walks and fully alert in between for the fellow who darts from behind parked cars and for children at play As pedestrians we must remember that the driver cant always think for us cross only with the green light shun jaywalking jay walking as you would the plague take it easy above all in both cases keep your temper and live longer drivers and pedestrians both have a firm responsibility because both are the cause of accidents operation cooperation co and a decent measure of respect for the other fellows feelings and life will go a long way toward solving traffic headaches our recipe for a safer 1947 therefore is tolerance and cooperation ON THE BEAM THE
