Show plan underpass beautification 40 members of the morgan valley garden club who went on the tour to ogden last week agreed that it was the most interesting and profitable trip made thus far the group was joined in ogden by lester perry who had made all necessary arrangements to visit the gardens of mr and mrs royal eccles mr and mrs nichols the J S lewis canyon home and the stallings farm home in eden evergreens Ever greens tuberous be gonias iris roses outdoor fireplaces and lily pools were stimulating points of interest the garden club wishes to express appreciation to louis christensen for the use of the school bus and to roy maxwell driver for the occasion after seeing all these beautiful spots club members are more than ever convinced of what can be done to enhance the natural beauty of morgan As announced at the last meeting plans for the planting of the lower underpass have been made definite it is urged that every member of the garden club and all who are interested will contribute a little time to help make this unsightly corner a colorful garden spot next spring and summer the union pacific railroad and city officials are cooperating in tile the preparation for the planting all adjacent neighbors have promised maintenance for the remainder of this season please be generous with your iris roots we ask that you mark them for color so that a more effective planting may be made these may be delivered to mrs F F ulrich or to faye williams at the J williams and sons co store it is announced the group will meet on the spot at 4 p m wednesday july 10 each gardener will bring necessary planting equipment and be responsible for same mrs S B dunn will advise and assist in the work |
