Show navy inaugurates inaugurated ates new policy for high school students the navy department realizing the areat reat importance of education in properly training the nations youth for subsequent duty with its great forces has recently established a new policy in regard to the voluntary enlistment of 17 year old senior high school students who are enrolled in their final semester the new navy policy now makes it possible for senior students 17 years of age in their final semester of high school to voluntarily enlist now in the naval reserve as seaman first class providing they can pass the radio technician test lest and then be placed on inactive duty until after graduation at which timo time they will be called into active duty and assigned to a training base after approximately two months indoctrination they will be transferred to a radio technician school if the student has a sound knowledge of high school algebra and physics with an elementary or fundamental knowledge of electricity and radio he should be able to pass the radio technician test in case a student desires further information on this matter it is suggested that you get in touch at once with J af collins chief electricians mate U S navy recruiting station post office building salt lake city 1 utah phone 4 2552 extension |
