| Show SHARP TAKES OFFICE AS ASSISTANT STATE FOUR if 11 CLUB specialist dr sharp jr last week arrived on the campus of the utah state agricultural college where he took office as assistant state boys and girls club leader extension service director william peterson made the appointment which was approved at washington D C april 1 he will join miss fern shipley in assisting D P murray state leader leade rJ to carry out the duties of 4 H club work in utah F for or 27 years mr sharp has been actively engaged in agriculture he graduated irom from the U S A cr in 1913 with a bachelor of science degree in animal husbandry and during the summers ot of 1913 and 1914 assumed the position of county agent in iron county during the winter of 1913 14 and the succeeding four school years he taught at the branch Amri agricultural cultural college at cedar city in 1918 he moved to parowan carowan where he managed the wilford day livestock ranch for 5 years in 1924 he was appointed county agent in summit county a position he held until his recent appointment in addition to directing 4 11 club members mr sharp is manager of the fourth intermountain intel mountain junior fat stock show which will be held at the union stock yards bardi in north salt lake june 4 5 and 6 only 4 H members and future farmers are ara eligible to exhibit their fat stock at this show other shows in which he will participate during the next few weeks include the junior livestock show at richfield may 10 i black and white day at richmond I 1 may 16 two sanpete county stock shows may 17 and 18 and a vernal may 27 and 28 I 1 he will also attend many of the che 4 H club leader training schools I 1 which are currently being held hed throughout the state for the purpose 1 I 1 of teaching local leaders the 1940 club program summit county bee |
