the grant of such unprecedented authority to the resident president were unavailing ns as the white cracked t the whip over revolting representatives final finai vote on the measure was to 78 the vote climaxed a furious eight hour le de hato on oil the measure president members attempted to roosevelt attach amendments which would protect private industry from government projects which ml might lit be lann laun clied under tinder the relle relief f plan when this tailed failed they endeavored to allocate the money for specific purposes when the debate tad lad reached its height the president sent a message to the house declaring it would lie be impossible to segregate se items for which v aich the money would be expended but that the huge outlay of sums would be devoted to public projects
