Show FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOU MORGAN COUNTY PIONEER beautiful and impressive funeral services were held to in the north morgan ward chapel last friday il tida ya no nov v ath at p in m for benjamin F smith one ot of the early sab of morgan county who passed away at his home in morgan november 5 after a long confinement at ms lis home from paralysis the funeral services were in charge of bishop horace and were as follows choir sang guide me to thee invocation by pres daniel helner heiner choir rendered 0 my father opening remarks by pres howard randall solo my faith in thee by mrs delmar dickson accompanied by delmar dickson violin and lavern dickson piano remarks wm win H dickson solo im P a pilgrim mrs bertha porter accompanied by mrs elsie heiner remarks elder thos palmer vocal duet my father knows by J J johnson and hs daughter edith accompanied by mrs bertha porter A tribute to the deceased written by his dau daughter ahler i was read by curtis rogers Vio violin lill solo A perfect day by delmay delmar dickson accompanied by mildred dickson closing remarks were made by bp horace helner heiner male ma e quartette by 11 1 1 M neeley everett evere it anderson J J johnson and james palmer benediction by delbert robison Rob Lson interment was made in the south ward cemetery elder R R fry dedicated the grave pall bearers were the five sons of the deceased and his grandson flower girls were the grand 0 rand daughters benjamin F smith son of conrad smith and orin elizabeth Geesen Gees eruan tan was born bom february 22 1846 at thomastown Thomas town pa he came to utah sept 3 1860 with the james D ros company he crossed the plains a number of times to assist grants in coming to utah and also ahn brought the first telegraph wire to utah in 1869 1969 he went to tn laramie city for freight on january 26 1874 at salt lake city he was married to mary airi ain simmons daughter ot of geo simmons and mary ann ford of brighton eng pioneers of 1855 their children are annie george mina I 1 frank charles william walter lloyd and archie besides his widow seven of the children survive hini him also 17 grand children and 24 great gra grand nd children mr smith was a pioneer resi resident derit of morgan having lived hers here for the past 70 years |
