Show LETTER alerte R an fn 0 31 FRANCE the following letter was received by mrs R H giles from her son allison who was in the invasion of france june 11 1944 dearest mother As you have heard by now were here in northern france I 1 know how much your worry has been but its not at all possible to write any more often so far up to the date of this letter I 1 gotten a scratch and have been in the bitterest battles in the invasion of this country I 1 have undergone many experiences equal to none other of my life my testimony has been strengthened now to the point that I 1 know instead of believe the powers of god the jump in was not quite as planned nevertheless our missions were evere all completed no man on earth w will ill be able to paint write or tell of the picture that was seen as we jumped down on our foe this letter could be read to th folks at home as you see fit maybe the news im writing during a little rest before going on from here on things be so rough ll see that all my friends know that I 1 am well my thoughts are always w with till you dont worry about me ill soon be home your son allison |
