R Anderson Despite her age sh she is still extremely active Her eyesight is excellent and she write writes frequent frequent frequent fre fre- fre- fre quent eUrs with a firm hand She reads books hooks the daily paper paper pa pJ per mail and magazines to her husband She does much of the housework including preparing breakfast each morning In December Dc- Dc cember she and her husband husbard will celebrate th their ir wedding wedding wed wed- ding anniversary She was matron of the temple for 16 years Prior to that she was president of the stake R Relief Re Rc lief Society and was a Relief Society president in the Manti South Ward She has been a hostess to general genera authorities cs of the LOS Church for many years They would come for quarterly conference Friday on the train and leave Monday She always saw to it that there was a choice lamb Jamb or mutton roast when President Heber J. J Grant came When she was younger she enjoyed the family cabin at CL L V 1 Lh Li n rl vII 1 l t 11 That helped all an ailments The family always considered that she brought them good luck fishing It was a common practice practice practice tice in the stillness of the evening evening evening eve eve- ning for she and her husband to row with muffled oars to the point and back trolling j with h flies and silk line Jine Along one evening was Lewis Anderson her law in who hooked a big fish which broke the leader and got away with his prized salmon silver doctor fly which was hard to come by then He was downcast about the loss but she told him that when they came back she would catch the fish and get the back She did Another time a couple cople on their honeymoon at Fish Lake had a large fish take their new trolling pole and whole outfit on the east side of the lake She noticed as they walked up the shore on the west side that they were greatly upset Th They y hated to lose the outfit and said they were going home to Salt Lake She had them point to whre lo t outfit and told them she would fish it up They said this was impossible impossible sible but she wanted to know e to leave it They said She delivered the fishing fishing fish fish- ing irig outfit there nex next trip to Salt Lake Before her marriage she taught school at Centerfield The pay was per month 2000 of which went for board and room But the people were very appreciative At the close of the year they put on a dinner dinner dinner din din- ner and gave presents to the teacher Mrs Andersons Anderson's father Peter Munk lived to be lacking about bout a month This was before the days of penicillin Mrs Anderson appreciates the flowers and other remembrances remembrances remembrances brances sent to her on this oc oc- oc- oc casion |
