G Cornell recently at ceremonies conducted at Fort Ord California He is a son of Mrs 1 Frank Behunin of Sterling The Legion of Merit is the Army's second highest award for meritorious service He was cited for outstanding devotion to duty duty while serving as chief instructor of the Fort Ord Drill Sergeant School and as the Operations Ser Ser- geant The citation noted that Cornwell had helped organize the Drill Sergeant Schoon in 1964 As chief instructor for the school he spent many long hours preparing lesson plans and under his guidance the school opened on schedule without without without with with- out any difficulties As Hh operations sergeant sergeant sergeant ser ser- ser ser- geant he display a vast knowledge knowledge know know- ledge of military subjects and staff procedures the citation pointed out Mai la i. i Gen Thomas A.
