Show Utah Seed Council Plans Sanpete Tour Utah State Seed Council President Wilner A. A Blakley and members of the Utah Seed Council will tour the Great Basin Experimental Station Friday August 9 The Utah Seed Council is made up of people from throughout the state who are arc either working In the seed industry industry in industry in- in or for a governmental agency associated with seed growth and production The tour will leave at 1000 am a.m. from the Experimental Station located nine miles up Ephraim Canyon and will proceed proceed proceed pro pro- to the Majors Major's FlatE Flat E Experimental plots and to the Manti ManU Restoration Project south of Manti Mantl In the afternoon the group will tour the sub-alpine sub area on the Wasatch Plateau to observe the types of plants grown there Some of ot the forage varieties now grown In these areas look promising for adaptation for commercial plantings and could provide additional seed crops for Utah The function of the Utah Seed Council Is to promote the states state's seed industry by providing an outlet for crops grown and to compare the quality of seed E i 1 available for planting |
