Show Former Resident Church o Worker Is s Brought f for or Burial Funeral services were held in the North ward chapel Tuesday afternoon for Agnes Hoggan Reid 67 wife of E. E T T. Reid who died in a Salt Lake hospital at Saturday afternoon Mrs Reid suffered a stroke in ManU Manti some time ago and was teas taken to a Salt Lake hospital Mr Reid a former former former for for- mer school superintendent bishop and members of the stake presidency then sold his home in Manti ManU and moved to to o Salt Lake just a few weeks ago Mrs Reid was born in Manti June 20 1880 a daughter of Thomas A. A and Margaret Hoggan She received her early education in Manti ManU schools and later ater attended the L D S college in Salt Lake City The family moved to Lewisville Idaho in 1901 and she worked in her fathers father's store there a position she had lad also filled before the family left Manti Later she taught school in hi Lewisville She then trained as a nurse at the theL theL theL L D S hospital in Salt Lake City and became a graduate nurse She took postgraduate nursing at Fordham hospital hospital hospital hos hos- pital New York City and then served as a nurse at Fort Bliss Texas during World War Var I I. I Mrs Reid spent some som years in Los Angeles Idaho Falls and Salt Lake City where she was active in nursing and also as an agent for the New NewYork NewYork NewYork York Life Insurance Co For two years she cared for her mother who had lad been stricken with paralysis In 1930 she was married to Edgar T. T Reid and returned to make her home iome in Manti l She was active in inthe inthe the he Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Latter day Saints serving in the Sunday School and Mutual during her earlier years After returning to Manti she was in the Relief Society presidency in in the Manti ManU North ward and also alson in n the South Sanpete stake She was an ordinance worker in the Manti temple emple for seven years Survivors include her husband now of Salt Lake City four our s step daughters Mrs Melva M M. E Christensen Christen Christen- sen of Ephraim Easton Moffitt accompanied by his w wife e played a violin solo The liThe Lords Lord's Prayer a after ter which Mrs Mae Clark paid a tribute to Mrs Reid She spoke as a friend of girlhood days and said Mrs Reid was truly a home maker Mrs Clair Tuttle read a tribute to Mrs Reid from W. W WW W. W Sell of Idaho and then told of Mrs Reid as her counselor in the Relief Society of her dependability and her ability as a aI I theology teacher Mrs Reids Reid's life was made up of sympathy and love for forthe forthe forthe the unfortunate the ilie speaker said Myrtle F. F Christensen of Provo a sister of Mr Reids Reid's first wife said their family the Farnsworth family family family fam fam- ily had confidence in Mrs Reids Reid's taking the place of mother in the home She instilled in the girls the ilie good things and high ideals of life Mrs Christensen said A quartet Amy Bond Viola Tatton Tatton Tatton Tat- Tat ton Erastus H H. Petersen and Sam Parry sang Come Unto Me after which Alice Hatch spoke and said Mrs Reid had shown by her life a faith in her Creator Pres L. L R. R Anderson told of Mrs Reids Reid's seven years of temple work and of her life having been one of o service Mr and Mrs Ellis Johnson then sang a duet Prayer Perfect Leland E E. Anderson said Meekness and Calmness had been Mrs Reid Reids beauty She had refinement and cult culture culture cul cul- cul- cul t ture re and spent a lot of time with the sick and needy including a year in Texas during the influenza za epidemic ic he said Bishop Stott made closing remarks and commented on the good life of Mrs Reid after which the choir sang Still Still With Thee The benediction benediction benediction bene bene- diction was pronounced by Pres C.
