Show Jaycees Schedule July Festivities There will be a great time in Manti on Tues Tues- day That was the promise echoed by Manti Jaycees Jaycees Jaycees Jay Jay- cees as final preparations for the running of the Jaycee sponsored Fourth of July program got underway According to Raymond Jensen Jaycee chairman chairman chairman chair chair- man of the traditional Independence Day festivities festivities festivities ties it has been 11 years since the first Jaycee sponsored celebration caught the hearts of Man Man- and made it an instant success It has been enjoyed by thousands of Manti people and former forme- residents who have returned year after year to enjoy the old fashioned patriotic Fourth of July celebration And Manti ManU is a better place to live because of it Chairman Jensen said pointing out that thousands of dollars raised by community civic and church organizations have been turned back to the town through projects such as the swimming swimming swimming swim swim- ming pool heating plant tennis courts the new athletic area on the school grounds and such youth programs as the Little League and Pony League baseball programs The celebration has been a joint effort in every way It has been only t tit through h r o 0 u ugh g h the cooperation of virtually all of Mantis Manti's civic and church organizations that such an outstanding program of patriotism and activity has been pos pos- sible This years year's program will preserve the patriotic patrio patrio- tic flavor of past celebrations Mr Jensen said as a reminder of the events which we commemorate rate on this day Bells band music games hamburgers hamburgers hamburgers ham ham- burgers sno cones cotton candy balloons popcorn popcorn popcorn pop pop- corn ice cream baseball dancing and fireworks will all aU be included in a day of busy activity The complete program for the festivities has been outlined as follows am a.m. Tolling a.m.-Tolling Tolling of the American Legion Liberty Bell will ring in the anniversary of American independence Sunrise serenade by the Manti band under the direction of Ned Jensen The band will travel around town serenading serenading serenading ser ser- with rousing patriotic music 7 00 am a.m. a.m. Fourth Fourth of July breakfast at American Legion Hall Hot cakes hams and eggs eggs all all you can eat for per person 5 per family Everyone welcome Serving from 7 to 10 am a.m. 9 00 am a.m. Tetherball am-Tetherball Tetherball contest at the Manti Memorial Park sponsored sponsored sponsored spon spon- by Separate contests by age divisions for boys and girls age 8 to 12 Standard rules will be used Cash prizes for all participants with for the winner in each division 1000 10 a Childrens' Childrens m Childrens' Childrens races sponsored by the South Ward Vard Elders Races for all boys and girls age 2 to 15 All races will willbe willbe willbe be divided into age groups with cash prizes to all who enter with special prizes to winners 1030 am a.m. Concert a.m.-Concert Concert of patriotic music by Manti Band with Ned Jensen as director Guest speaker will be well 1100 11 am a.m. Independence a.m.-Independence Independence Day program known Maxwell E.
