H Christensen and teacher In Manti l was buried in the Manti lanti City Cemetery Saturday following following following follow follow- ing services in the Orem Fifth Ward Vard with Bishop Phillip Shumway Shumway Shum- Shum way conducting the services Judge Christensen died Wednesday Wednesday Wed Wed- of a heart ailment in the Utah Valley Hospital at Provo He was born in Gunnison December December De De- cember 13 1872 a son of i M. M r. r C. C and Elsie Katherine Katherinc Christ Christ- ensen He served as judge in the Seventh Seventh Seventh Sev Sev- Judicial District Court from 1908 to 1917 and continued his hislaw hislaw hislaw law practice in Manti 1 until 1924 at which time he moved to Provo Prior to hs us appointment as judge he was deputy County Attorney for or two years and then became County Attorney He Hc served as a teacher in Manti and other South Sanpete and md Sevier Schools for a number of years and was president of the school board in this district He built the first garage in Manti tanti and also helped form the first electric light and power company and the first telephone exchange here He married E Ellen 11 e n Virginia Jennie Snow of Manti in the Manti lanti Temple on September 26 1900 and she died in 1916 They had five children lIe He married Myrtle Farnsworth of Beaver June 23 1920 in the St. St George Temple and they had three child child- ren He is survived by his widow 7 children 24 grandchildren 21 great grandchildren 1 sister and 1 brother |
