Schools took ov over r the lead in the Sanpete League last Friday night as they toped taped their opponents ts inthe in inthe inthe the first games of the season Gunnison Gunnison Gunnison Gun Gun- nison and Snow took convincing victories from Wasatch Academy and Moroni respectively but Manti Man Ian ti was crowded to the wire to top North Sanpete who had a very good season pre-season record Gunnison ran up the top score of the week by beating Wasatch 46 to 33 giving notice that Woody Beck has another good team together Three Gunnison players scored more than ten points each as the South-end South team led all alJ the wa way Snow waded into the defending champions from Moroni and topped topped topped top top- ped them 39 to 22 Fans generally that Snow had a chance t tc to beat Moroni but believed they could win by 17 points Snow led lcd ledin ledin in the first quarter and held a 16 to 12 lead at the half Moroni could score only 2 points to Snows Snow's 8 in the third quarter and 8 to Snows Snow's 15 in hi the final quarter Snow put a lid on the scoring of Moroni's Clair Faux holding the little forward to 8 points Clair was one of the top scorers in the league last
