Show Funeral Held a For or I Benjamin Johnson Funeral services for Benjamin Johnson were held in the Mani Manti Man Man- ti i North Ward Yard on Thursday of last ast week with Bishop Calvin Keller Celler conducting the services Mr l Ir Johnson died at his home the he preceding Sunday after a lingering illness Prelude and postlude music musie I for or the services was furnished by Mr 11 and Mrs Easton Moffitt 1 and music on the program in in- eluded d Oh Ohly My ly F Fat Father a t h her e r and and Sometime Well We'll Understand by Mrs Hulmes Hulme's Ladies Chorus and That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine sung by June Lovel Lovell and Mavis Stephenson The prayer in the home was offered by Peter Nielson and the he prayers at the service were by Gerald Carpenter and Reed Madsen A son Lloyd Johnson dedicated the grave in the Mani Man Man- ti i cemetery Speaker Anthony E. E Stephenson Stephen Stephen- son of Delta a law brother told old of their boyhood times together together to to- gether how the J Johnsons had moved to Nevada among non non- Mormons and of their lives to to- gether He said they had been among the first settlers in Delta Delta Del Del- ta and that Mr l Johnson had done much work in establishing the irrigation system making canals and bridges there Tennys Madsen ladsen of Ephraim spoke of the life hereafter and of how Mr Johnson had worked to prepare himself for that life Mr Madsen is a nephew of Mr Johnson In his closing remarks Bishop Calvin Keller told how he had enjoyed going to see Mr Johnson John I son of the warm hand clasp and the big bright smile which always awaited him on these visits He said Mr Johnson had been a faithful worker in the church and in the Temple I Among those coming to attend attend attend at at- tend the funeral services were many from out of the state with Idaho Nevada and California Cali Call fornia being represented along I with his many friends throughout through through- out Utah |
