E A. A Wall WaH entered the camp In 1887 and was Immediately attracted by its possibilities According Ac cording to early stories he inspected inspect Inspect- ed an old abandoned tunnel driven by soldiers who came to Utah under the command of ot General P P. E. E Connor and there found samples o of copper ore Upon Inquiry he found that the ground was open to relocation as former claim holders bolders had failed to do their assessment as as- work He immediately tiled on two claims During the succeeding 10 years Colonel Wall added to his holdings In the district acquiring some acres During these years he kept up his assessment work and succeeded succeeded suc suc- In accomplishing feet on various vailous parts of the property This work began to unfold the extent of the huge stock of copper I ore Captain Joseph R. R De Lamar pioneer Mercur operator became interested with Colonel Wall and sent two young oung en engineers in his employ at Mercur D. D C C. and Robert C.
