Show OUTSTANDING ANDING STOCK EVENTS FEATURED AT STOCK SHOW Clifford Olsen sen Has Ha Top Rambouillet lIet Moroni Moron Miss Is Cowboy Co Sweetheart Clifford Olsen of Ephraim had the grand champion ram of the Sanpete Rambouillet and Junior Livestock Show held at Ephraim Ephraim Eph Eph- raim last Friday and Saturday This is the second year that Mr Olsen has won the top spot but not with the same ram The winner this year is a two- two year old stud which won sweepstake sweepstake sweep sweep- stake honors among all livestock exhibited at the Sanpete County Fair last fall A ram entered by George L. L Beal and Sons of Ephraim won first place in the yearling jearling class and came second to the Olsen rom ram in the championship race placing as reserve champion Mr Olsen also had the top pen of oC three yearling rams with witha a pen bel belonging nging to Adin Nielson of Ephraim placing second College College College Col Col- lege of Southern Utah of Cedar City exhibited the first place yearling ewe and Grover Childs of Gunnison had the first place pen of three ewe ewes Entries in the junior sheep division were very numerous and also very ery outstanding but the full list of winners was not readily available Is Cowboy Sweetheart While the main function of the show is to exhibit outstanding sheep and other livestock and to encourage encourage continued improvement improvement improvement improve improve- ment in all classes of stock a matter of high interest is the of the Sanpete Cowboy CowboyS S Sweetheart w we e et eth h e ear a r t t. t or Rambouillet Queen as she has been een called in previous years That honor went to Miss Barbara Barbara Bar Bar- bara Larsen of Moroni this year Chosen as her attendants were Miss Joyce Aag Aagard rd of Green and Miss Sherrill Tidwell of Moroni These girls were given the reign for 1955 by Miss l Nedra Anderson of Moroni the 1954 1 Queen The Sweetheart rt and her attendants will now participate in all shows and celebrations to tobe tobe tobe be held in this area during the remainder of the year Alma Allred of Mt l Pleasant was as this years year's King Cowboy and was attended in the parade by other King Cowboys Cowboys Cowboys Cow Cow- boys of oC former years Parade Draws Crowd Largest crowd was drawn by bythe bythe bythe the parade which though not hot as ns large as in some previous years had some very outstanding ing floats There were several bands some of them participating ing for the first time The weather weather weather wea wea- ther also was perfect for this event Many of the spectators' spectators cars pulled out before a main event of the parade unaware that the riding clubs would come from the south after the bands floats etc had gone south and re re- re turned There were six riding clubs with some very outstanding ing mo mounts and also some outstanding outstanding outstanding out out- standing riders The clubs re represented represented represented re- re presented were from Gunnison Manti Mt Pleasant Ephraim the newly organized and two from Moroni The parade judges were influenced in influenced influenced in- in by the efforts put forth in preparing for the parade en entries entries entries en- en tries so instead of awarding a afew afew few large prizes as in the past they broke the prize money down and made several awards I First prize for the riding clubs went vent to the men from Gunnison with the Moroni girls and the Ephraim getting honorable honorable honorable hon hon- mention Other awards were Churches Ephraim West Vest and North wards tied for first Clubs Ephraim Variety club first and the Au Courant Couran club honorable mention Schools Snow College first Business Houses L.
