Show I I EPHRAIM SIGNS NEW 10 YEAR 10 YEAR CONTRACT FOR TELLURIDE POWER A new year 10 contract with the Telluride Po Power Company giving a lower rate for peak periods was signed Jan 18 by Ephraim City officials after the same had been considered and approved by the City Council in special meetings The contract replaces a previous year 10 contract signed in the fall Ian of 1944 by a former fonner administration and through which Ephraim has been purchasing Telluride power for more than five years Use of power has increased so rapidly that transformers at the substation are being taxed to the limit during I peak load periods and also the old contract was proving too expensive for this peak power Mayor Calvert Calvert Calvert Cal- Cal vert Larsen of Ephraim explains Under the new rate it is expected expect expect- ed the city will save some in power purchases from Telluride within 10 years |
