Show CROP RANGE REPORT salt lake city march 27 1935 normal temperatures prevailed with no great fluctuations checking the growth of vegetation started by the previous abnormally warm weather beneficial snow tell fell gen i brally over the state at the beginning of the week delaying field work which was confined to higher land in general farming areas look dor der mant but winter wheat has ai a thrifty appearance early spring grain is sprouting the lower ground is still too wet to work fruit trees have a healthy appearance livestock are to in satisfactory condition but are finding very little forage spring vegetation and farm activity y were re carded by the cold spell and snowfall at logan and ogden but the farm land is filled with water at the sur face pruning fencing and general cleaning and repairing have sed A considerable acreage of spring grain has been planted in the salt lake valley and patches of winter grain look well generally however the fields look dormant livestock are doing fairy well though forage has been closely cropped fruit trees have a healthy appearance and much pruning has been done the ground Is wet at provo wheat and barley are sprouting nicely and alfalfa and grass are showing signs of life though there Is no feed in the pastures livestock are doing fairly well cold wet weather at manti delayed farm work and retard ed vegetation the ground Is too wet to work ranges are improving and the foothills carry snow nearby tor for livestock moisture gophers are act ive at deseret eating the green stuff J C alter a mrs james steele returned from panguitch where she was called two weeks ago by the illness and death of her daughter s husband carl cameron her daughter mrs velta cameron and her two little chil dren returned to delta with mrs sicele i bd rd v ill make her home with wil th her parents |
