Mrs. Orissa Celleventtra, a for-mer well known resident of Bing-ham, who now holds the office of President of the Rebekah As-sembly of Utah, visited Bingham on Wednesday and attended the Election of Officers of No. 7 Ruth Rebekahs. The following officers were elected : Noble Grand, Mrs. Earl Nepple; Vice Grand, Mrs. Delia Delucia; Secretary, Mrs. Kate Ford; Treasurer, Mrs. Ar-thur Tremelling. Lodge No. 26, Rachel, of Cop-perfiel- d, was represented by Mes-dam- es Collier, Maxfield,' Carter, Turner and Miss Borg. After the Election a deli-cious three-cours- e luncheon was served. j HI Bag and Baggage f j I BINGHAM BOY FALLS j OFF RAFT AND DROWNS - Joseph (Buddy) Doyle, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Doyle, who I was born at Ishpening, Michigan, on Jan. 17th, 1913, was drowned - . in a pool at Horse Shoe Bend, , near the Denver & Rio Grande 1 tracks,, below the Fortuna Mine property, and about four miles from town on Monday last. The little fellow with several com- - , panions had been amusing them- - j selves by riding a raft, when he " " fell into the pond. His inability to swim caused his death. The other boys who were with him came to town and notified the au-thorities. Dr. Frazier and Fa-ther Ryan immediately left and with the skillful diving of Father Ryan the body was secured. Ser-- ' vices from the Holy Rosary I .; Church on Thursday morning were in charge of Father Ryan, who delivered a brief but impres-- ( sive address. Melich Erroi, the little five-year-o- ld daughter of George Er-roi, fell into a tub of boiling wa-ter at the home of her parents at the Highland Boy on Tuesday, and after intense suffering died on Wednesday morning. Dr. Frazier attended the little suf-ferer. BINGHAM SOCIETY. Mrs. Jack Bradley and son of Salt Lake City spent the week here with Mrs. Bradley's father, Mr. Harry Brownlee. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Diamond of West Jordan visited'with Mr. and Mrs. Willard Richardson on Sunday last. . Miss Phoebe Masters, known familiarly as "The English Nightingale," spent Wednesday in Springville with friends. honored by a visit of the Stork tho past week, with a baby son. Mrs. Joe Kemp returned from Park City on Friday, where she spent a pleasing two weeks' vaca-tion. Miss Lilas McColman left camp the past week for Salt Lake where she will study at the Uni-versity of Utah during the sum-mer school. The Misses Ortha and Dora Keser of Salt Lake have been vis-iting with .friends in Bingham this week. Mrs. Lee Jones returned from Salt Lake this week, where she spent a pleasant three weeks' vacation. Miss Nina Swnsen, principal of the Copperfield Schools, will attend the Utah University sum-mer school at Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Barnard, entertained at dinner on Wed-nesday last for Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Barnard and their two sons, Lyon and Allen. Mrs. E. J. Billings, and little daughter Udora, of Salt Lake City, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Hyland on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. John Steel and Mr. and Mrs. Caulfield and Mrs. Marriott, were Salt Lake visitors on Thursday. Mrs. Ryan of Chicago, the mother of Father Ryan of the Holy Rosary Church in Bingham, with her niece Miss Florence Parsons, are visiting in Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Stamford of Salt Lake City, visited Mr. and Mrs. Doyle this week. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Madsen also visited. The G. G. G. Club met on Wed-nesday at the home of Mrs. L. Buckman. A delightful luncheon was served. Yellow roses were the principal decorations. Five hundred was played. The num-ber of guests included Mesdames Winther, Norden, Manwafing, J. D. Schilling, Roy Schilling, Aven Maley, Liser, Chandler, Kemp, Flynn, Cole, Frzaier, J. B. Myers, Barnard, Bowman and Lyons. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wells and family spent Sunday at Ogden Canyon. The Band Concert was much enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hudson entertained on Monday last in honor of the birthday of their little daughter Jean. Games were indulged in and a delightful luncheon served to the following guests: Lois Ivy, Beth Porter, Utahna Ingledcn, Lillian Lowney, Betty Jones, Bessie Kemp, Mary Jane Forbes, Edith Decall, Jose- - SCHOOLS A new and practically fireproof roof has been placed on the pub-lic schools of the City. After the roof had been completed a com-position, of which every fire in-surance company approves, was placed on the roofs as a fire pre-ventative. BASEBALL. The Bingham baseball team met the Salt Lake County Fire-men's nine on the Bingham grounds last , Sunday and the home team met with defeat by a score of 10 to 13. The Bingham !boys were in. the lead five runs 1n the early part of the game, but the Bingham pitcher weak-ened as the game progressed and the firemen won out. With a lit--' tie more practice the home team should win a majority of games with the amateur teams of Salt Lake and county. Next Sunday the Park City team will play here. Game called at 5 o'clock. Fahrni and Harry Row--: land spent Sunday going through many old workings of abandoned. mining properties in the Bing-- ham district. It is understood they will commence leasing oper-ations in the near future. Fred Turner of Copperfield vis-ited the precipitation plant of the Ohio Copper Co. on Sunday last. General Manager Imer Pett of . Salt Lake City spent Monday last at tne Bingham Mines property. Superintendent Joseph Hyland of the Bingham Mines Co. spent the week end with his family at Salt Lake. MAX GEFFEN, Secretary. TOWN BOARD MEETS. The full board were in their respective chairs on Wednesday evening with Dr. F. E. Straup presiding. A committee of the Barbers Union requested the board to en-force a closing hour for the non-union barbers. The application of Charles Pez for a rooming house license was referred to the Safety Commit-tee, Dr. F. E. Straup and Marshal Thompson. BINGHAM STREET , NOW LOOKS GOOD i A circus could not cause more interest in camp than the tractor and grader which are now being used to make a good road ' through town. The narrowness of the streets necessitate even the office force of the Town Hall to get out and assist in the direc-tion of traffic. The City author-ities are to be congratulated on the capable roads which they are now building. Edward Olson, of Midvale, a former Binghamite, was in town on business Thursday. FORMER BINGHAM EDITOR GETS REAL JOB C. E. McNeeley, who for some time was Editor-in-Chi- ef of the now defunct Press Bulletin, is now located at Delta ar.d h?.g been appointed City Clerk, also City Attorney of the City of Delta. Mr. McNeeley's friends in Bingham wish him every success with his exalted positions. ORPHANS GET NEW HOME. Tony and John Zucca, who were born in Lark, will have a summer home with Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Cole. The boys have been connected with the St. Anns Or-phanage at Salt Lake City since the death of their father, Tony Zucca. BINGHAM MERCHANT .
