Show history of east millard county HISTORY OF KANOSH continued from last week in september 1934 a C C C camp was established at kanosh the first company was composed ot of utah boys and was awarded the blue lag flag the highest rating of at all the camps in the fort douglas district since the time of 0 the establishment ot of this camp it has been vacated only once that was waa during the summer months at 0 1935 the present company Is composed almost entirely of 0 missouri boys and Is carrying on the splendid development ot of east millard county which was started by the first company one of 0 the outstanding accomplishments of 0 the C C C was waa the erection of 0 the modern modera ive five building forest rangers home and station on the north east corner of 0 the kanosh public square in 1936 the present population Is about this HAS varied very little over a period ot of years there are four our seral service ce stations one garage and store a post office one mere mercantile antil s store two blacksmith shops one liquor store and one cafe or confectionery ti onery kanosh has one ward and a complete church and auxiliary organizations abolt 1000 a year Is paid in a tithing A picture show plays playe once a week kanosh has an open air and also a closed dance hall there is a branch line railroad of 0 the union pacific that runs within fourteen miles of at kanosh there la Is a telephone system and an electric light system A new steel pipe water system was completed in 1934 the nearest bank is at Fl ilmore the electric lights were installed december 2 1926 the above in honor of the early settler peter robison Rob laon I 1 later still the name was changed to hatton named after dick hatton who succeeded peter robison as ag postmaster the first house built was the log house where noah stowe now lives which was built by peter boyd the second house was built by peter robison and Is now occupied by clara robison this was the first adobe building the third house was built on art the lot where earl whitaker now lives and at present la Is his bis granary this house was built by john webb the next house to be bullit was located across the road from noah home and was waa built by charley hall these fiver five buildings are the only ones ot at the old village left standing and two of 0 these have boon been remodeled other houses were built by old man bridges
