Show I 1 A good time was had by all by joe joa 0 carling well folks cecin as how I 1 have been chooses to be the official scribe of the bunch I 1 think I 1 had better got get busy on this thia here deer hunt that thai we just finished to make a long story short as I 1 can ill begin at the beginning and end up when I 1 run out of material to begin with there was about thirty of us hunters and some that hunters in the camp at the spring at shingle mill hill it was has pretty darn hot the first night and some of us could sleep there was some that sleep though on account that commissioner kysor kyser or kizer I 1 dont know which and Le Orando Grando payne were having a sno ozin bee so albert robison and main greenwood ups and christens em am will rogers and blue boy respectively and to top the night out the two christ eners start to sing something about john starlena Star leya leys borgum and wakes the rest of us up at twelve and we dont got get any more sleep till the next afternoon on a side hill bill where the wind blowing the first day we came in with about seven deer and one in the timber that the lad from san pete shot and bring in and say marion greenwood has wes ashman beat many ways when it comes to girla nick names he named mick alick the man from the holy city and father escalante but the name ho he gave my dad was a good one too lie he calls him old apricot hows that for a handle tor for you well the second mor ang we got 1 I a little sleep then about eight in the morning we started to drive the turner timber tor for the big ones but in the afternoon we started to scram we didat have any luck about four our tor for camp we got in camp with about tour four deer short tor for us guys and one or ar two tor for the other camps sunday morning we all felt kind of plus pius so we dont go out till quite late and then we just go over to make a drive on cottonwood well young claude harvey smacks a two point and then cant find his knife to cut his throat and the deer gets up and runs off in the bushes and come to find out claude left his knife on oa a log up in the timber it wont do none of you any good to try and find the knife cause he went back and got it that drive netted us two more deer one tor for itchy and one tor forr will rogers the commissioner so we started back tor for camp then decided to drive cedar springs by the way ham iverson and cherry beauregard Bau regard joined us on the drives and each got a buck cherry got madland mad and had to lay down before he could get a head beed on the deer he shot just before it was time to go to camp newel warner shot at a buck that june carling had scared out of the timber and the big fellow turned right towards me and I 1 let him come I 1 was waa up on a rock so he run over me and when he got where I 1 could poke him with my gun I 1 let her go and shot somewhere down in or delta but I 1 decided I 1 better let him go or he be would run over my horse which was over the hill a little so I 1 pecked packed him on the ear so I 1 could get into camp be fore ore the moon went down well we via got into camp and had a bite or two maybe more and soaped yarns tor for a while then went to bed so we could come home and got get ready lor for next years hunt well good luck to the rest of yeas I 1 forgot to tell you about the time roy dame went out to hunt deer and only took tour four bullets in his bis pocket and shot all of those away on two deer an anever got either of them then the monarch of the mountains came into view and brought three ot of his sons ons out and all roy hoy could do was waa to point his gun at them we decided not to lot let him go out the next day unless he took more bullets so BO he started out in the forenoon to with four boxes and five in hla his pocket then to make matters worse he never saw a buck the next day albert and main got the buck ager and emptied their guus guns on the ground then started to chasel the buck up the mountain it happened that two of the bribing generation era tion marion robison and meldon warner were up there somewhere and the buck ran into them and fell onto a bullet and tailed failed to rise about all I 1 can think of now |
