| Show NEW IN sol 1 As a continuation of their th air splendid cooperation and loyalty toward our schools the progress has again invited us to contribute a weekly column to this excellent paper we gladly avail ourselves 0 of this opportunity and will from week to week give an account of 0 our school happenings and events which we hope may prove interesting loyal support such as the progress gives Is what makes our public school a power for good in any community our school opened on monday morning with a very large attendance the enroll enrollment lent the first day in all grades was this has now reached a total of the enrollment by grades is as follows first 60 seco second nd 42 third 48 49 fourth 42 fifth 60 50 sixth 40 seventh 39 eighth 58 our eighth grade goes to high school tor for two classes general science shop and home making mr air will have two classes of instrumental music in our school we are especially fortunate in having baying mr air trimble and miss partridge tor for our music work and are looking forward to some very splendid results in this subject our weekly programs are to be continued through this year through the courtesy of bishops brunson and hatton we are able to hold these programs in the church halls this is a much appreciated courtesy as our auditorium lacks both stage and seats beats two very necessary things tor for good programs everyone Is welcome to these entertainments and we hope many will come in this way we may encourage the pupils to put forth their beat efforts our first program will be held in the first ward hall on friday afternoon at three we look forward with interest to the organization of a parent teacher association in ii imore this year A real live active society of this sort Is our crying need just now there is much that can be done for or our schools it if we can organize well select a good sot of officers and take an interest in the meetings why not an active P T A tor for fill hlll more lets have one |
