Show SCOUTS TAKE TRIP at six friday morning the doy scouts of fillmore began to gather at the home of their scout master asael fisher before starting on a much anticipated hike which had previously been well planed A truck ha had d been rented for which each boy had 1 fee fa the first trouble encountered was that after twenty boys and their luggage mere piled into the truck it noto note be started and it was necessary to get a mechanic to come and get us on our way everything went just fine until we reached north of greenwood when it was discovered there was a punctured tire this had not been been noticed soon enough and we had traveled tar far enough to injure the inner tuam mr air fisher flaher reed starley and and byron ray walked back to Cre greenwood enwood to phone into fillmore for a tube and tiro tire while they were gone the boys played around the sand hills when the three scout masters rame back we sat sab on the road broad and sang our scout songs two of the boys slipped off to visit CI clinton days store at greenwood and buy candy when returning one of these boys lost his bis hat after the tire was fixed on we continued on oil our journey we did not stop again until we reached deseret it was now dinner time and the boys were sure ready for it after after dinner we went into arto deseret where the county fair was being held before starting on our hike it had been planned to go to anglope springs where we could gather pine dine nuts but ut after being informed that it was was two wo weeks late our plans were changed much to the disappointment of some of the boys but after mr air fisher told us he would give us a quarter to go to the fair the disappointed ones soon cheered up j we went in the fair looked at the which were very fine we also saw some very interesting horse rances races and bucking contests and att aft atti i er we had spent all our money we continued our journey until we came canic to a very beautiful stretch of water where we pitched camp tor for the night we were divided into groups of six each group prepared and ate a much relished supper after clearing away the evening meal we sat around the camp ire and told stories and I 1 sang songs mr air fisher told us some sea stories which were enjoyed very much taps was then sounded and a bunch of tired but happy boys i retired tor for the night the next morning as the sun peeped over the horizon we ie arose from our slumber jubilant over the anticipation of another day of tun fun some of the boys fished while others prepared breakfast bieak bleak tast fast after which we went to delta where we went thru the sugar factory visited the boet beet dump and places of interest around the factory we then went on our way to the sand hills here the boys played games until dinner time each meal was enjoyed as much as the last one after dinner boys and luggage were gathered together and we started on our journey home wo we art alved in fillmore about I 1 each scout voted the hike to b one of the best ever and resolved to be real scouts so that more such hikes can be taken we have a real scout master and things are going to hum under his leadership blaine huntsman |
