Show NEW MOTOR VEHICLE LAW A bill was introduced in the Utah legislature last Saturday by Mr. Seeg miller, of Kane (County, which if passed will fix a new schedule of license li-cense fees, rate of speed, maximum wheel load, also regulating traffic on state roads and bridges. The bill is known as H. B. No. (05 Among its provisions we note the following: fol-lowing: Fees Motor bicycle $3.00 Motor Cycle $5.00 Motor passenger vehicle 25 horse power or less, $10.00 25 to 40 horse power $15.00 40 to 50 horse power $20.00 Over 5 0 horse power $25.00 Motor Trucks with Pneumatic Tiers One ton or less $20.00 Two ton, $30.00 Three ton, $45.00 Five ton $90.00 With Two or More Solid Rubber , Tires One ton or less, $27.00 Two ton, $45.00 Three ton, $65.00 Four ton, $100.00 Five ton, $140.00 With Iron, Steel 6r Hard Tires One ton $40.00 Two ton, $80.00 Trailers Pneumatic Tires One ton or less, $10. 00 Two ton, $15.00 Three ton $25.00 Five ton $50.00 Solid Rubber Tires - Oone ton $15.00 Two ton, $25.00 Five ton, $75.00 Iron or Steel Tires One-half ton $15.00 One ton, $25.00 Two ton $50.00 Speed Vehicles with pneumatic tire, wt. of load and vehicle less than 5000 pounds, 30 miles. . Over 5000 pounds 25 miles. With Hard Rubber Tires 5000 or less 20 miles 4 tons, 15 miles. Over 4 tons, S miles.' Wheel Load Limit No one wheel shall carry over 3 1-2 tons and no weight of load and vehicle shall exceed ten tons, subject sub-ject to the following -additional restrictions. re-strictions. The load o any wheel shall be limited to 60 0 pounds per inch width of tire in actual contact with the road surface.-measured at the narrowest "point of the tire. This applies to concrete, brick, or bituminous bitu-minous pavements. 400 pounds per inch is the limit on earth or gravel surfaced roads. Among many other provisions of this bill we note weight to be allowed allow-ed to pass over- posted bridges, and limited weights to be allowed . to travel over roads in seasons of file year when the frost is coming out of the ground. Taken as a whole it is a good bill. Perhaps the figures are not right in all cases but if not, they will undoubtedly un-doubtedly be remedied before it becomes be-comes a law.
